Free Veteran Suicide Prevention Training

The Cocopah chapter of Together With Veterans is teaming up with National Community Health Partners (NCHP) to honor our Veterans this month by providing a special free suicide prevention event. The event will take place on Friday, September 5th. This event will identify the need for suicide prevention, provide instruction and opportunity to learn tools essential to keeping our military members and their families safe.

This special event will highlight the QPR Institute’s QPR Gatekeeper training as a method for suicide prevention in our communities. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Like CPR for mental health, QPR training empowers everyday people to recognize the warning signs of suicide, open supportive dialogue, and connect individuals to life-saving resources.
